Arrow Global BLE Wiring and Installation guide
Installation and Provisioning
Table of Contents
The Arrow Global BLE is supplied with an 8-wire harness. The harness facilitates various I/O's. For many installs, where we simply are looking for 'standard' vehicle tracking, we only need to connect 3-wires.
The benefit of a 3-wire 'hard-wired' install is that the device can't be easily dislodged/removed, and - a ‘true’ ignition signal can be detected. Meaning trip starts are recorded with pinpoint accuracy - and idling can be effectively monitored.
Tools and Items Needed
Before beginning installation, ensure you have the following:
- Fuse Tap Connectors – for tapping into vehicle wiring
- Pliers – for gripping and bending wires
- Multi-meter – to verify voltage and ground connections
- Wire Strippers/Cutters – for preparing wire ends
- Screwdrivers – for opening panels or securing mounts
- Zip Ties or Fasteners – to secure wiring and device
- SIM Card – for cellular connectivity
- Protective Gloves – for safety during installation
Harness Wiring
- The Arrow Global BLE comes with a 8 wire, 600 mm long harness
- All wires are pre-stripped by 15mm
- Wire gauge is 22 AWG / 0.64mm²

Basic 3-Wire Installation
For standard vehicle tracking:

-
Use a multi-meter to locate a fuse that supplies power even when the vehicle is turned off (such as the hazard lights or interior/door lights)
-
Connect Red (Wire 2) on the Arrow Global BLE harness to this or the vehicle battery (10 - 30 VDC).
-
Connect Red (Wire 2) on the Arrow Global BLE harness to this or the vehicle battery (10 - 30 VDC).
-
Connect Black (Wire 1 - or any black wire on the harness) to chassis ground.
-
Use a multi-meter to locate a fuse that will only supply power when the vehicle is on - such as indicator lights.
- Connect White (Wire 3) - to this point.
- The White ignition input will register as 'on' when >2 VDC is applied to this line.
NB: It is best to avoid ‘tapping into’ a safety critical system such as the ABS.
Fuse taps such as the below may be used for a clean and quick install.

Mounting Guidelines
- Mount the device securely using zip ties or brackets.
- Place the device with as clear a view of the sky as possible, in order to maximise GPS signal.
- Avoid mounting near metal surfaces or electronic interference sources (e.g., radios, ECUs).
- Route wires neatly, away from sharp edges, moving parts and secure them to avoid vibration damage.
Additional Install Options:
Connect Digital Inputs:
- Door Open
- 4WD Active
- Seat belt monitoring
- Panic Buttons
See Digital Inputs Introduction - the device parameters must be configured first for this to correctly function.
Connect Analog Input:
Wire 5 (Green) is an Analog with a 0 - 30V DC input range, for connection to voltage-based sensors e.g. fuel float switch.
Digital Out:
Wire 6 (Yellow) is a Switch Ground Digital Output, rated to 2A max. This can be used to drive switch relays, buzzers, etc. or to immobilise a vehicle.

Driver ID:
Wire 7 (Brown) is for a plug and play 1-Wire® or iButton®, which can be used to read Driver ID tags. Readers available to suit multiple card formats.

When wired in tandem with an automative relay, the asset can be configured to be immobilised until a valid ID is presented and/or a command is sent from the server.
- Immobiliser Install - Asset starts after valid Driver ID Scan
- Immobilisation Install - Asset can be immobilised from server
Testing: OEM Installer Page
The OEM Installer page (oemserver.com/installer) is designed to verify than an installation has been done correctly. We will be using it going forward in this document. The Function of this page is generic across all devices. It is not password protected, and as such is designed to not give any sensitive information away.
Note the page does not auto-refresh.
For full details, see How to Use The Installer Page
Process/Things to Check
Enter the device serial number, click Find
- Check the device has connected recently
- Check the Last Commit Time is the same as the Last Communication time (or within a couple of minutes) - if the device has not committed recently, all following data will be out of date (commit = successful data upload)
- Check the device has got a recent GPS fix
- Check the internal battery is OK
- Check the power is what you expect - with the ignition on, and ignition off (make sure to refresh after toggling) - this confirms the power source is constant.
- Check the Ignition toggles correctly when you turn ignition off/on in vehicle.
