      Contact Verification exists to improve the reliability and security of automated communications in Telematics Guru. This ensures that recipients are validated and receive the notifications expected.

      Contacts now have a visible verification status for email and mobile details, with clear warnings shown when unverified contacts are selected for notifications such as Scheduled Reports, Maintenance Schedules, and Alerts. 

      Users can verify their own contact details from the Manage Account page, while users with the Address Book Manage role can initiate and complete verification on behalf of others directly from the Address Book.

      Note: All existing contacts will be treated as historically verified, and new contacts can be verified via secure, time-limited codes sent by email or SMS. 


      Unverified contacts added after this implementation (March 2026 release) will not receive notifications.

       

       

      Verifying a User Account

      Verifying a personal user account is a simple process. When a user is created a link will be sent out. 

      Alternatively, existing users can also initiate the verification as follows:

      1. Navigate to the Account → Manage Account page.
         
      2. Click on the ‘Verify’ button for either or both email and mobile number.
         
         

      Email Verification

      1. A verification link will be sent to a users email.


         
      2. Click on the link to set your password and update your details.
         
      3. Observe success message and login to TG with password just set.

       

      Two Factor Authentication

      Some Organisations may have Two Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled. For users with 2FA enabled, there is an additional step. 

      1. Click on send verification email.
         
      2. Check your email and copy then paste the received verification.
         

               

      1. Next, you'll need to add TG to an authenticator app. This can be downloaded from either the Apple App or Google Play stores. Scan the QR code to add your TG account to the authenticator app.


         
      1. Input your password, then the code shown in the Authentication app.
         
      2. Email verification is now completed. 

       

      Mobile Number Verification

      1. Navigate to the Account → Manage Account page.
         
      2. Input the mobile number, including country code and click on the ‘Verify’ button mobile number.





      Third Party User Email and Mobile Verification

      Admin users with the Address Book manage role can initiate and complete verification on behalf of others directly from the Address Book. 

      1. Notify and advise the user that you intend to verify. 
         
      2. Navigate to Admin → Address Book. 
         
      3. Locate the user requiring verification.
         
      4. Click on Verify for the Email Address or Mobile Number.


         
      5. For both emails and mobiles, the user will receive verification code, and will need to share this with you. 
         
      6. Enter the verification code and confirm verification success.



         


         
      7. Email or Mobile verification for the third party has now been completed.
