Setting After-Hours Immobilization in Device Manager
Table of Contents
After-Hours Immobilization
After-hours immobilization lets you keep a device (i.e. a G70) immobilized or mobilized outside configured working hours. Use this when you want the immobilizer state to follow your after-hours schedule, even if basic asynchronous messages are sent or Driver IDs are scanned.
Applies to:
| Device | Firmware Version |
| G70-4G | 1.16+ |
| G70-4G-Bluetooth | All versions |
Asset Immobilized or Mobilized During After-Hours
Keep in mind that after-hours immobilization ensures that assets remain immobilized or mobilized, depending on the Immobilization After-Hours parameter, even if basic asynchronous messages are sent to the device or Driver IDs are scanned.
Parameter Set-Up
Before configuring after-hours immobilization, first complete one of the standard immobilization installs below.
-
Immobilization Install - Asset can be immobilized from the server
- Immobilizer Install - Asset starts after valid Driver ID Scan
Once one of the above installs is in place, add the after-hours layer using the parameter below.
Immobilization After-Hours Parameter
-
Disabled - After-hours immobilization is disabled.
-
Active - The immobilizer state is active, with the output set High.
- Inactive - The immobilizer state is inactive, with the output set Low.

Make sure the After Hours and Time Zone parameters on the device are aligned. This is essential for after-hours immobilization to operate correctly.

Override After-Hours Immobilization
There are four ways to override after-hours immobilization:
- Override Command - contact DM Support for OEM/Device Manager WebAPI documentation.
- Prioritized Driver ID.
- Send an Activate or Deactivate command from the mobile app, depending on your immobilization set-up:
- Use an Activate command on a basic remote message with a configured expiry duration in the system parameters. For this option to work, Active High must be set to No and Immobilization After Hours must be set to Inactive.
- Use an Activate command on a scheduled remote message, as long as an expiry duration is configured in the system parameters. For this option to work, Active High must be set to No and Immobilization After Hours must be set to Inactive.
- Use an Activate or Deactivate command on a timed remote message.
- Use an Activate command on a basic remote message with a configured expiry duration in the system parameters. For this option to work, Active High must be set to No and Immobilization After Hours must be set to Inactive.
- Update the system parameters in Device Manager to disable after-hours immobilization.
Next Steps
After configuring after-hours immobilization, test the output logic and schedule on the device to confirm the asset behaves as expected. If you are still setting up immobilization, start with Immobilization Install - Asset can be immobilized from the server or Immobilizer Install - Asset starts after valid Driver ID Scan.
