Private Scans (Adv) Parameters

Private Scans Firmware applies to:

Private Scans give users enhanced control over the device’s Wi-Fi scan phase, enabling fine tuning of parameters for improved detection of private networks. The following configurable options are available:
 

• Private Scan Type: Wi-Fi scan type to be used on a private scan. Options are Type B or Type G/N.
   
• Private Scan Channel: The channels to be scanned for in a private scan. 1-14 are valid.
   
• Skip General Scan on Populated Private Scan: Yes or No. If Yes, skips the general scan when DM Wi-Fi beacons are found in the private scan.
   
• Private Scan Duration (ms): The duration of the private scan. How long the device will scan for private beacons.
   
• General Scan Type: Type B, Types G/N, or Types B & G/N.
   

To enable Private Scans, ensure the device is on the latest firmware, then select and configure the Private Scans tab, which can be found under the Advanced Parameters.
