What is a Nano SIM Card?

SIM Cards come in several sizes but Digital Matter devices mainly use 3FF (Micro) and 4FF (Nano) when it comes to physical form factors. Please read our Knowledge Base articles to help make your decision on network operators and roaming SIM providers.

How Are They Installed?

Step 1. The SIM card holder for a Nano SIM card works on pressure alone, there are no mechanical parts to assist in installation or release. Those with sharp eyes will be able to discern a small SIM card shape on the metallic cover plate which indicates the orientation of the SIM Card. An easier shorthand for correct insertion is to ensure that the side with the notch taken from its corner always goes first.

Step 2. Once inserted, the back of the SIM card should be flush with the SIM card holder and not protrude any further than the area covered by the metallic plate. This concludes successful SIM insertion.

Next Steps

Now that your SIM Card has been installed, ensure that the Admin Parameters are appropriately configured for your chosen network and mode.
