Hawk - Battery Life Estimator
When assessing if the Hawk is fit for purpose for a particular application - a battery life estimate is invaluable.
However, it can be hard to make accurate predictions given the vast array of configurations and sensors that can be fitted to the Hawk. Different sensors will have different power draws, warm-up times and sampling times which make estimations difficult.
Battery Life Estimator
We have developed the attached Battery Life Estimator that you can use to try and get an idea of how the Hawk will perform for your application.
Please Note
Please note that this is an estimator only. Whilst every effort has gone into making it as accurate as possible, real-world performance may vary.
Battery life estimates are influenced by several factors including temperature, installation and orientation of the device, the frequency of location updates, network coverage, sensor integrations, peripherals, accelerometer settings, and more
How To Use
- Choose your battery
- Hawk Pro - LTC D Cell or LiPo
- Hawk Lite - Alkaline D Cell
- Choose your sensor from the drop-down menu.
- Adjust your samples per hour, logs per hour, GPS fixes and uploads per hour.
- For Pulse Counting
- samples per hour refers to how often, on average, a pulse occurs and is counted.
- The logs per hour refers to how often the pulse count is “looked at” by the device and written to a log.
