Here are the Default I/O Mappings for Digital Matter's Dart 3 tracker. You can change some of these mappings on OEM server - we do not recommend changing these unless you know what you are doing. Additionally, some firmware features provide their 'result' as a Digital Input flag - i.e. Idling flag. It is important when configuring these inputs to avoid clashing with inputs already mapped.

These mapping can be very handy to identify and debug issues.

For example, if the device is connecting to the server/platform intermittently, this maybe an issue with coverage which can be confirmed by analyzing/plotting Analogue 4 (Cellular Signal Strength). Another example of an issue that we see often is trips not being detected/initialized properly - this maybe an issue with the ignition wiring - by looking at Digital 0 would help troubleshoot such issues.

Analogue Mappings

Analogue Mapping Description
1 Battery Voltage
2 External Voltage
3 Temperature
4 Cellular Signal Strength
5 Analogue Input

Digital Mappings

Status Flags

All DM devices have 'status flags'. The status flags are sent in Field 2 to 3rd party servers. However in Telematics Guru, they are remapped to the following Digital Inputs.

Digital Mapping Description
24 Trip State
25 Internal Battery 'Good' (3.6-3.7 v)
26 Connected to External Power
27 Connected to Server
28 Charging
- Ext. Power and Battery connected while Temperature is safe for charging (2-38 C).
