Devices can be organised into groups in a 3 level hierarchy:

  1. Distributor: the highest level. These are generally grouped into Digital Matter Australia, Digital Matter South Africa, etc.
  2. Vendor: most "device manager users" of the system will fall into this category.
  3. Client: the lowest level.

Users with the "Device Manager" permission can put devices into groups that they have access to. Follow these steps:
  1. Login to the OEM Server website at www.oemserver.com. The user will need the "Administrator" permission.
  2. Select the device(s) using the tick boxes.
  3. Go to Device Operations->Set Device Group.

  4. Select the group and click OK


Creation of client groups is limited to users with the Client Creator permission. If the user has this permission, follow these steps.
  1. Login to the OEM Server website. The user will need the "Device Manager" and "Client Creator" permission.
  2. Select the device(s) using the tick boxes.
  3. Go to Device Operations->Set Device Group.

         

  1. Select the higher level groups.
  2. Enter the name of the new group.
  3. Click on OK
